Coming to an end ...

Starting to conclude this time in Japan ... it's going to be difficult putting up with dirty streets and bad service. The Japanese work hard ... and sleep on trains and buses.

good sushi

It had to be done !

Nagasaki panorama

Nagasaki was an unexpected highlight ... a city with a small town feel. Lots of hills overlooking spectacular bay.

Japanese Trawler

Nao Shima

Have spent last couple of days in Nao Shima ... a small island nestled between Honshu and Shikoku and received a new lease of life through three major art initiatives. I was visiting with slight hesitation ... but it was outstanding. Take a look at the website for further details as i couldn't take photos ... Monet in a James Bond setting.

Kanazawa 21st Century

Just had a thoroughly thorough art meal in Kanazawa ... i think Tate Modern should have consulted Mr.Tadao Ando before embarking on next phase.

Separated at birth

I'd like to think i'd brought these two sets of siblings together.

I'm noticing far too many houses where i want to live ... a mix of my favourite materials corrugated iron and tiles.

More people like me with the corrugated iron bug.

Kyoto

I wasn't expecting to be blown away but i was.

Neighbourhood Watching in Tokyo

Had a walkabout in Chiba and think Neighbourhood Watching might have opportunity for overseas franchise.

Mitsu and me

I've met up with Mitsu who haven't seen for 10 years since we shared a house together in Brockley. He now acts with the Kyogen Theatre in Tokyo ... i went to see a production. Lots of character acting and quite alot of shouting ... all made sense in the end after a bit of explaining.

Big Tuna

This tuna caught my eye !

In no particular order ...

I'm now in Kanazawa and Japan just gets better and better ... i've just got round to updating blog but have been in Tokyo a week and Kyoto for a couple of days. Today i visited Kanazawa Contemporary Art Gallery for 21st Century and i think it might have become my favourite art gallery ... the James Turrell was the highlight and walking into the underground swimming pool.
